Sean Willingham’s hard hitting personality is one that takes everyday activities to the extreme. Sean is a modern-day cowboy who got his start in the roping world at the age of 15, but team roping didn’t provide the adrenaline rush he craves. Bull riding did. Willingham began entering PBR events in 1999 and his professional career was progressing well until November, 2001 when Willingham had a wreck that cracked his skull and put him out for over a year. Willingham, loving the rush, retired his cowboy hat, picked up a helmet and made a comeback. His 2006 year proved to be his best so far, winning three event championships in Reno, NV, Tacoma, WA and Portland, OR. Sean finished the regular season in the number two position heading into the finals and finishing the year within the elite top five competitors. With determination and a love for the sport nothing will keep this cowboy down.
Since Willingham is known for pursuing extreme and physically demanding sports. When he is not in the arena spurring a bull, he can be found on the lake wake boarding, or on a mountain snowboarding; Sean likes to think of it as cross-training. Willingham is a big college football fan and also enjoys rap music. Look for Sean riding in a uniquely designed Cinch helmet as he spurs his way to the top.
