Straying from traditional Italian interests of the arts, fashion and fast cars, Andrea Fappani developed his passion for western riding at a very early age. Moving to the United States after high school, Fappani trained with Jack Slack and another spectacular Cinch trainer, Todd Bergen. He won the NRHA Limited Non-Pro Championship and placed fourth in the Non-Pro Futurity his first year in the States. In 2001, Fappani’s hard work paid off when he won the NRHA Open Futurity Championship and Open MEC Spectacular Championship. Fappani’s experience gave him skills that allowed him to begin welcoming his own clients in 2002. By 2003, Fappani had taken home yet another Open MEC Spectacular Championship, accompanied by an Open CRHA Challenge Futurity Championship and an Open Futurity Reserve Champion. Living up to his prestigious reputation, Fappani took 2004 in stride with an Open CRHA Challenge Derby Championship and the MEC Spectacular Championship. In the 2005 season, Fappani took his competitors by storm winning the NRBC Co-Reserve Championship, the NRHA Futurity Res Championship and the Reining by the Bay Derby Championship. Fappani’s 2005 MEC Futurity Championship made him the winner for five years in a row.

Fappani is the youngest rider to ever win the NRHA Open Futurity Championship and the first European to do so. His career earnings total over $850,000 and he was second in the NRHA Top 20 Professionals for 2005. His goal is to achieve the million dollar rider status for 2006. His training facility, Fappani Performance Horses, is based in Scottsdale, AZ where he lives with his wife, Tish and son, Luca. In his spare time, Fappani enjoys riding four-wheelers in the desert and playing with his son.
