JARED LECLAIR
Jared Leclair is originally from Lowell, Massachusetts and got his first taste of riding reining horses at a very young age. Jared started riding reining horses under his uncle and NRHA trainer. During high school he would help his uncle on the weekends, and showed reiners as a youth. Jared attended the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio; this is where he met his wife to be Heather. In 2001, Jared captured the Individual Reining National Championships at the IHSA National Championship as well as helped his collegiate team to victory.
Jared began his training career after graduating for Quarter Mount Farm as head trainer. From there Jared went on to be an assistant trainer for the well-known Tim McQuay. During this time on Jared’s first trip to the NRHA Derby, Jared made the limited and intermediate open finals on Wowsanic, owned by Alain Longatte. His next big accomplishment came when he won the Intermediate Open at the 2004 All-American Quarter Horse Congress aboard the same horse. Also while working for McQuay, Jared became an incredible coach to non-pro’s. He has coached many non-pro’s to championships across the country.
In January 2007, Jared made a huge step, leaving McQuay Stables and began his own future of his own reining operation, Leclair Performance Horses. Leclair Performance Horses is located at Legacy Ranch, in Pilot Point, Texas. After his move, Jared continued his winning ways in 2007 and took the Open Championship at the OKRHA Ride & Slide. Jared went on in 2007 to win the NRHA Open class at the Texas Classic and made the Intermediate Futurity finals in the NRHA Futurity. The 2008 NRHA Futurity showed Jared is moving up in the NRHA standings as he finished third place in the Open Division and was the Intermediate Open Futurity.
