Career Highlights
• 2007 - Won the Wrangler NFR tie-down roping average title for the second straight year (and third overall) with a 10-head time of 90.8 seconds. Won Round 1 with a time of 7.6 seconds and placed in six of the rodeo’s 10 rounds. Won the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show (Fort Worth; the San Angelo (Texas) Stock Show and Rodeo; the West of the Pecos (Texas) Rodeo; the Fourth of July Celebration & Rodeo (Window Rock Ariz.); the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo (Vernal, Utah) and the Pikes Peak Or Bust Rodeo (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
• 2006 - Won his fifth tie-down roping title in record fashion setting a new Wrangler NFR earnings record with $132,652 in earnings and a new single-season earnings record of $298,112. He also won the average title with a total time of 84.3 seconds on 10 head, just three-tenths of a second off Fred Whitfield's record (84.0) set in 1997. He placed in nine rounds, winning four of those rounds. He won the second round in 7.2 seconds, finished in a three-way tie in the fourth round with a 7.4, tied for the win in the eighth and tenth rounds with times of 7.6 and 7.5, respectively; became the eighth cowboy in PRCA history to surpass the $2 million mark in career earnings after winning the Sikeston (Mo.) Jaycee Boothill Rodeo. Finished the year as the regular-season leader with $165,460 breaking his own regular-season earnings record. Won the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo (Waco, Texas); the West Texas Fair & Rodeo (Abilene, Texas); the Ogden (Utah) Pioneer Days Rodeo; the average title at the Dodge City (Kan.) Roundup; the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round title at the Cheyenne (Wyo.) Frontier Days Rodeo; the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round at the California Rodeo Salinas; the Home of Champions (Red Lodge, Mont.); the Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo (Stephenville, Texas) and the average title at the Laughlin (Nev.) • 2005 - Won the first round of the Wrangler NFR with a time of 7.4 seconds, but strained his left groin when dismounting his horse. He continued to compete, winning the fourth round in a time of 7.1 seconds and the 10th round in 6.7 seconds. He won $85,817 during the 10-day event, more than any other tie-down roper at the 2005 Wrangler NFR; won the Magic Valley Stampede (Filer, Idaho) and the Molalla (Ore.) Buckeroo. Finished the year ranked second in the world with $164,640
• 2004 - Finished fourth in the all-around world standings with $163,032, fourth in the tie-down roping with $149,213 and 20th in the steer roping with $13,019; finished sixth it the Wrangler NFR average in tie-down roping picking up $49,815; won RodeoHouston Clovis (Calif.) Rodeo; on tie-down roping and all-around title at Walker County Fair and Rodeo (Huntsville, Texas); won the Tour round title at Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo; won tie-down and steer roping titles at Lewiston (Idaho) Round-Up; won the Pace Picante ProRodeo Challenge title (Omaha, Neb.) with a semifinal time of 7.0 seconds setting a new arena record; placed in four out of 10 rounds at the Wrangler NFR, winning Round 1 with a time of 6.9 seconds
• 2003 - Set a world and arena record in Round 10 with a 6.5-second run at the Wrangler NFR to win the world (Ricky Canton set a new world record in 2005 with a 6.3-second run); won Round 3 with a 7.0-second run, Round 6 in 7.1 seconds, Round 7 in 7.0 seconds and Round 10 in 6.5 seconds at the Wrangler NFR. Was second in the aggregate at the Wrangler NFR; co-champion tie-down roper at Southwestern Exposition Livestock Show (Fort Worth, Texas); won tie-down roping and all-around title at Guymon (Okla.) Pioneer Days Rodeo; won Sheridan (Wyo.) Rodeo and Dodge City (Kan.) Rodeo Roundup; finished the year with $212,366 in earnings in tie-down roping, was 32nd in steer roping with $9,658 and was second in the all-around with $222,025

6-0, 200...Wife, Jenny; daughter, Saylor; son, Cody Blake; stepson Hunter...Hobbies hunting and football...During the ninth round of the 2001 Wrangler NFR, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and the patellar tendon, requiring three surgeries that kept him out of competition all of the following year…Bought horse, Casino, in Sept. 2003 and carried him to a record-setting run and another world title
