• Set regular-season earnings record for steer wrestling with $133,685, but tore pectoral muscle in first round of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and had to withdraw. Underwent surgery on Dec. 17 in Dallas to reattach the muscle to the bone; expects to return to competition in June 2009

6-1, 225…Single…Hobbies include riding young horses, playing cards and hunting…Played football at the University of Northern Colorado for four years before entering ProRodeo full-time. He was a linebacker and also saw some time on special teams. He played in every game during his four years making, 90 tackles, with 52 of them coming his senior year. In his senior season, he had three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown…Got involved in rodeo when he was a teenager, when Kyle and Paul Hughes showed him how to steer wrestle. His first rodeo competition was in 1998…He was raised on a ranch, but his family was big into other sports, with his dad serving as a coach. Parents are Rich and Cindy and they are both school teachers. He has one sister, Casey Yahn…Competed mostly in the Mountain States Circuit his rookie year, 2005, but in 2006 he branched out and made a name for himself…Travels with Ken Lewis, Gabe Ledoux and Seth Brockman…Rides Ken Lewis’ horse Anna (8 years old) most of the time…Graduated from Fowler (Colo.)
