Washing Instructions
Proper care of your garment is necessary to maintain its flame resistant properties.
· Launder flame resistant garments separately.
· Do not use chlorine bleach or starch.
· Do not use fabric softeners.
· To avoid excessive shrinkage, do not wash in water over 165°F (74°C).
· Tumble dry at a low heat setting and remove promptly.
Wearing Flame Resistant Garments
It is important that you always follow your company’s guidelines for how to wear flame resistant garments. Some basic guidelines are:
· Make sure your garments fit properly. Garments should not be too loose or too tight and should allow for full range of motion.
· Shirts and jackets should be buttoned or zipped completely to prevent skin from being exposed.
· Sleeves should not be rolled or pushed up. This can leave skin unprotected.
· Shirts should be tucked into pants to avoid a gap in protection.
Garment Marking
If it is necessary to mark on your garment, it is recommended any hand written marking be done on the inside of the garment using an industrial laundry marker. Do not mark over any information on the labels attached to the garment.
The addition of non-flame resistant emblems to your garment can compromise the performance of the garment in the event of a flash fire or electrical arc exposure. If added, they should be kept small in size. However, we do not recommend using anything that is not made from flame resistant material.
Storage
Garments should be cleaned and inspected before storing. Garments should be stored in a dry location away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light may cause damage to the garment, including discoloration or loss of tensile strength.
Inspection and Repair
1) Garments should be inspected before and after each use. During inspection you should look
for:
· thin spots or holes
· excessive wear or abrasion spots
· heavily soiled fabric that cannot be cleaned
· nonfunctional or missing closures
· brittle or discolored fabric
If any of the above conditions exist, the garment should be repaired or removed from service immediately.
2) When repairing an FR garment:
· Always make repairs using fabric consistent with the garment’s original fabric.
· Use inherently flame resistant thread.
· When repairing or replacing other components, such as zippers and buttons, they
should also be rated as flame resistant.
· Using non-flame resistant materials can compromise the performance of the garment. We do not recommend using non-flame resistant material.
Retirement and Disposal
When flame resistant garments need to be removed from service, they should be destroyed. One recommendation is to cut the garment into pieces so it cannot be reused. Uncontaminated garments can be disposed of via any standard method that meets your local regulations. If the garment is contaminated, it is the users’ responsibility to refer to their local or state regulations for the appropriate disposal methods.
Warranty
The Cinch WRX FR warranty for its garments is to be free from material and manufacturing defects for the useful life of the garment if use, warning, storage and care instructions are followed. Useful life is defined as no more than 2 years but may be less depending on the type of use of the garment. Material and manufacturing defects include flawed fabric, non-functioning or missing hardware, improperly sewn seams that result in an open seam. Material and manufacturing defects do not include defects that are a result of ordinary use of the garment.
